PITTSBURGH, Sept. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- SMC Business Councils has committed itself to a new, more aggressive effort to contain small businesses' health insurance costs. Speaking to business and labor leaders at a conference on September 15th sponsored by the Pennsylvania Health Care Cost Containment Council, Cliff Shannon, president of SMC, said, "We're mad as hell, and we're not going to take it anymore," and called on health insurance purchasers to work together on needed reforms.
Shannon described skyrocketing health insurance costs as a "direct threat to employment-based health insurance, and a guarantee that the number of uninsured working Americans will grow." ...
