The largest owner of funeral homes in Arkansas is the Denver Roller family. The Roller funeral home conglomerate has been assembled over several generations and now encompasses 19 funeral homes in Arkansas and a 20th in Memphis.
Total, those homes performed 2,800 traditional funerals and cremations in 1996.
"We have a family-owned and operated business," says Bill Booker, Roller vice president of finance. "The Roller family has direct involvement in the management of these businesses."
The first Roller funeral home was founded in the 1930s in Mountain Home. That home was sold and the family moved to Little Rock in 1953 and bought the Drummond Funeral Home. Since then, the ...
