Nicom shifts to phone-system sales

SYRACUSE - Nicom Technologies, Inc., whose traditional business has-been selling refurbished telephone equipment, is finding growth with its transition to newer technologies.

The nearly 10-year-old, Syracuse-based company expects to finish this year with annual revenue of nearly $20 million, a 15- to 18percent increase over last year, according to Christopher S. Daniels, chief executive officer of the privately held firm.

That growth is expected to accelerate as Nicom Technologies -nefits from its shift, started a year ago, toward selling more new telephone equipment and services, including Internet-telephony systems and software. It is the primary reseller of Avaya Inc. [NYSE: AV] ...
