BERNARD HILL FILES FOR REORGANIZATION

WASHINGTON (FNS) -- Problems with a landlord triggered a Chapter 11 petition for reorganization by Bernard Hill, an Elkridge, Md.-based upscale men's wear retailer.

The petition, filed in Baltimore Sept. 20, lists liabilities of $4.5 million, including $456,000 in secured claims. Assets totaled $4.47 million.

According to the company's attorney, Joel Kaswell, the retailer was being charged $50 a day by the landlords of its Georgetown Park Mall store for having fluorescent lights in the ...
